Hazardous Waste
Batteries contain hazardous material and are not accepted in the City's garbage or recycling programs. Hazardous waste can be harmful to our health and our environment.
Drop off your batteries at any one of the City's three Community Recycling Centres (residential loads only).
Batteries can also be dropped off for free as part of Call2Recycle’s ‘Take-Back’ recycling program. Find a drop off location near you.
Other products such as paint, pesticides, motor oil, compact fluorescent light bulbs and smoke detectors can also be harmful if not disposed of safely at a hazardous waste drop-off location.
