Painted and Stained Wood

The City does not collect construction material or wood that has been stained, pressure treated or nailed. Residents can take this material to any one of the City’s Community Recycling Centres for a fee (residential loads only).
Clean wood and lumber less than 1.2 meters long and broken crates can be picked up from the City as bulk items. Call 905-546-CITY (2489) at least one week before you want your bulk garbage picked up. Clean wood and lumber can also be dropped off at any one of the City’s Community Recycling Centres for no charge.
Some charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity ReStores may accept fixtures and other items that can be sold for reuse.
