Hazardous Waste

·        Medical sharps can include needles, syringes, auto-injectors and more; for more details on what is accepted and proper collection please visit https://healthsteward.ca/consumers/returning-medical-sharps/.   

·        They can be returned at select pharmacies through the Health Product Stewardship Association Program. Find a participating pharmacy near you.  

·        Place medicals sharps in an approved sharps disposal container that is available for free from your local pharmacy. 

·        Please note, medical sharps from institutions, clean-ups, and substance use are not accepted program products.

·        Sharps must not be placed curbside for collection. 

·        Medications include prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and natural health products. For more details on what is accepted and proper collection please visit https://healthsteward.ca/consumers/returning-medications/.
